Q. How do I set up a developer account?
Simply go to the login page and setup your account by clicking on the Register Now button. You should set your account according to your user type – i.e a developer who wishes to see Workbrain workflow software based projects; or an employer/ software user who wishes to get these projects done by someone. If you are a developer you will be able to register yourself quickly with some mandatory information but you shall only be able to send in a proposal once you have completed your profile (as that information is important for any prospective employer to have).
Q. How do I award a project as an employer and what does that mean?
To award a project as an employer, that developer should have bid for your project. When you browse into your Manage Projects area, you will find that there is the option to view bids. Going into a specific bid, there is the option to award that project to that bidder. Here the term bid and bidder is loosely used. ERP and high end projects of these nature are difficult to estimate / or provide a fixed quote for till you are very deep into discussions. Hence when you award a project to a developer you and the developer only interchange contact information formally – through an email sent to your respective registered email accounts. Any interaction related to project payment/scope/escrow post that is to be done between you and the developer mutually and is beyond the scope of this system.
Also once you award the project, while the contact details of the awarded developer are available to you through email as well, other developers contact details can be viewed by visiting their profile links next to their bids (as they become visible now).
Q. As a developer how can I communicate with the prospective employer?
To communicate with a user while your project is under consideration and once your bid has been placed, you may use the Messages link placed next to your Bid. The message that you send currently will only be able to be viewed and replied by the software user/employer from his account interface. In the future direct messaging capability (sending messages to and from registered email account without revealing contact information) may be considered.
Q. Will I be able to use the same username /password in the forum as used within the site?
Since the forums used have a different database, a different username /password may be used if you wish else setup your account with the same user name/ password. You would of course need to log-on separately into it. It is accessible by the link on the top menu.
Q. Does my message history and bid remain in the system forever even after I the project has been awarded?
No. The system deletes information of a specific project which has been Cancelled or Awarded in 60 days.
Q. As an employer what if I change my mind regarding a project I have posted to seek proposals/ replies and want to cancel it ?
Yes, you can. There is a cancel option available when you browse a specific open project from your Manage project link in left menu. This option button when clicked cancels the project.
Q. As a developer once I have put in a proposal, Can I change and edit my proposal?
No. At this point of time the requirement for the same was not felt as using the messaging system keeps the original proposal in reference as well and in the messages you are also able to update your proposal and add or correct aspects of it by mentioning those in the messages. This also helps build an archive of aspects of your proposal.
